Welcome to Class 4!
The adults working in Class 4 are Miss Parr, Mrs Rich, Mrs Pratt (in on a Tuesday morning) and Miss Walker will also be teaching in Class 4 this term. Please come and see us if you have any issues or questions.
'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside' is our very exciting topic this term. We will be learning all about what seaside holidays were like in the past and we will identify land features of the seaside. We will look at Grace Darling and find out about her brave rescue. We will look at the work of people who help us by the seaside such as the RNLI.
We will also be looking at Islamic festivals in RE, exploring 'Living things and their Habitats' in Science and designing, making and evaluating sandwiches and packaging
Our P.E days are Mondays and Thursdays. Please bring both indoor (white t-shirt and black shorts) and outdoor kits (jogging bottoms and a warm top). No earrings please and long hair must be tied back.
Homework will be handed out on Fridays to all pupils. This will consist of one piece of comprehension work and one piece of Maths work. Please encourage your child to complete the work to the best of their ability and to hand it in by the following Wednesday.
There will be ongoing spellings to learn throughout the year.
Reading is the key!
Please bring your child's book bag to school every day. We will read with your child at least once a week. Read at home as often as you can with your child and record this in their reading diaries. Please encourage your child to change their books when needed.
