Hello and welcome to Class 6!
We are a mixed Year 3 & 4 class of 31 children. Our teacher is Miss Lock, Mrs Bates is our teaching assistant and Mrs Hall will be in on a Wednesday morning when Miss Lock is out of class. Our first topic is The Romans so be prepared for lots of history, art and stories about these world-class warriors and empire builders.
P.E Days - Monday afternoon (we are having our lessons delivered by a tennis coach this first half term!) and Friday afternoon.
Indoor P.E kit - black shorts and a plain white t-shirt.
Outdoor P.E kit - black tracksuit bottoms / leggings with a white t-shirt, trainers and a fleece / hoodie when the weather is cold.
Please put your names in your clothing to avoid a mountain of lost property!
Also, please take out any earrings and tie long hair back for health and safety reasons. Adults in school cannot help a child with their earrings!
Homework will be given out on Friday and must be returned by Wednesday. It will consist of a piece of maths linked to the work done in lessons and a reading comprehension. Weekly spellings will also be given out to learn as there will be weekly tests.
As well all know, being able to read is a vital life skill. Here are our Top Ten Tips for being a better reader.
The expectation is for children to read regularly - at least 3 times a week. Each child will have a Reading Record for their reading to be logged both at school and at home.
We are looking forward to a really exciting half term and can't wait to get stuck into our work and achieving new things. We look forward to seeing you all and getting to know you!
