Our School Council
Our School Council meets once a week. Two children from every class represent their own class on the School Council. The children are elected to the School Council by their peers. They take whole school issues and ideas from their own class councils and feed them into the School Council. They also share ideas and decisions from School Council with their class. Decisions made within School Council can, and do, have a real impact on the rest of the school.
School Council Ideas Box - the School Council have an 'ideas box' called the SCIB. It is available for anyone to pop their ideas on a note and put it in the box.
Charity Fundraising - each year the school council selects a charity to support during the academic year. This is designed to make the children aware of the different types of charities that exist in their local community and to raise funds to help support the charities work in the area. Last year the school council raised £400 for the Air Ambulance which was a fantastic achievement! This year it has been decided that the charity which the School Council will support is the Brain Tumour Research Charity.
We are going to begin our fund raising with a 'Wear Blue to School' day on the 10th February where children can come in blue clothing to school for a small donation and buy 'blue' themed buns and biscuits at play time for 20p each. There will also be a 'blue art' competition with a prize for one person per class. We as a School Council are very excited for this day and to get our fundraising underway.
