Some children may require additional support through targeted interventions, and in some cases, an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) may be appropriate.
We value the input of parents and carers and believe that working together leads to the best outcomes. Regular meetings and reviews are held to discuss your child’s progress and any changes in provision.
All children are encouraged to participate fully in school life, including trips, extracurricular activities, and wider school events. All staff receive regular training in SEND, including specific areas such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and mental health. This ensures we remain up-to-date and equipped to meet a range of needs.
Summer Lane Primary School works in partnership with the Local Authority and signposts families to the Barnsley SEND Local Offer. This includes support services, assessment pathways, and advice for families.
