Class 6 - Mrs Murray / Miss Hattersley

Hello and welcome to Class 6!

Our teachers are Mrs Murray, Miss Hattersley and Mrs Bates. PE days are Monday and Thursday. Year 5 swimming lessons will be on a Thursday, in PE sessions, starting on Thursday 23rd September.

Our first topic is 'The Vikings'. If you can find anything out about our topic we would love to share this in class.

Homework will be sent on a Friday, via Class Dojo, and will consist of a maths activity and reading comprehension activity. Spellings will also be sent via Class Dojo on a Friday and tested the following Thursday. As always, reading and Times Table Rockstars should be practised frequently.

Looking forward to seeing you all and the fun year ahead! smiley

P.E. days

Tuesday - Outdoors

Thursday - Indoors

Please ensure your P.E. kits are in school on these days, long hair is tied back and earrings have been removed.

Homework

Homework will be set on a Friday via our Class Dojo page.

Homework will consist of:

  • Maths activity linked to the work we have been doing in class.
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Spellings

Also,

  • Reading
  • Times Tables Rock Stars

A homework book has been sent home. This is to be kept at home. Answers to the homework will be uploaded onto Class Dojo so children (and parents) can self-assess their work.

The same text will be used for 2 weeks for the comprehension homework. This is to encourage re-reading and fluency development. Each week however, the question focus will change. E.g. Text 1 - week 1 vocabulary focus and week 2 inference focus.

Please upload (+ Add post) your homework on Your Dojo Portfolio after you have self-assessed it.

Class Dojo

We use our Class Dojo page for up-to-date information, class related messages and photos of our learning. You may also contact Mrs Murray or Miss Hattersley directly through the messaging facility.

Any absences should be reported to the school office.

Should you find you are off due to self-isolation for example, this is where home learning will also be communicated.
