Class 9- Mrs Sears / Mrs Gee

Hello Class 9 smiley

Welcome to your class page!

Mrs Sears will teach the class on a Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Gee will teach Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Mrs Bradley will be help support our class.

We will cover many topics for the humanities subjects this year, beginning with 'How did a pile of dragon bones help to solve an Ancient Chinese mystery?' This will be history based. We will also cover many science topics, beginning with 'Properties of materials'. In English we will use many great texts in both our reading and our writing sessions and we cannot wait to get started with these.

P.E days are Wednesday (indoor) and Friday (outdoor). Please make sure you have the correct kit for both of these days.

We will be sending a piece of Maths and Comprehension homework out via dojo every Wednesday and the answers the following week. You do not need to bring anything into school just post it on your dojo portfolio. A paper copy of the spellings will be given out each Tuesday and also uploaded to dojo. You will be tested on your spellings the following Tuesday.

We would love to see children reading regularly at home. Our target for each of you is to read at home 5 times a week. Whenever you read your colour banded book or a book of your choice, this must be recorded in your reading record. You can record it if you wish but we do need a parent's signature. Please bring your reading record and reading book to school daily.

Please try and remember that there is a no jewellery policy in school other than one pair of studded earrings and a watch. Mobile phones are allowed but must be switched off as you come through the school gates and kept in the top drawer of the teacher's desk for the day.

If you have any questions please contact either of us on Dojo smiley

Yearbook 2023

Here is a yearbook we have made, full of memorable photos and messages from the class of 2023 as well as well wishes from staff. We hope the children enjoy reading it and will look back on it with fond memories in years to come. Feel free to save a copy to your computer or print at home. If you would like a coloured and bound copy of the yearbook, they will be able to be purchased on the school gateway app in the final week of school. We will make sure any yearbooks that are bought will be given to the children on or before they leave.
